Instill’s mission is to transform teaching, learning and leadership in every classroom on the African continent. We’re looking for a Library Assistant & Administrator to join our small and growing team to ensure the success of our first cohorts of student-teachers.

What does role entail?

As the Library Assistant & Administrator, you will be working closely with our Academic and Operations Teams as well as both our contact and distance students. The Library Assistant & Administrator’s role is the student's first point of contract and is responsible for building systems and processes to support student learning and access to information resources to support their studies. 

• Manage digital and print library catalogues by ensuring that our library resources are up to date and meeting the needs of our students and faculty 
• Educate staff and faculty and assist in setting policies regarding copyright and fair use 
• Provide resources and lead trainings on library usage and information literacy
• Collaborate with curriculum designers to integrate information literacy skills throughout the curriculum 
• Publish content to the Learning Management System (LMS) 
  
• Manage the library budget 
• Collect and analyse library usage data to grow and encourage effective library usage by students 
• Develop and execute our library strategy with support of the Director of Operations
• Work to continuously improve student engagement with both our booklist and reference resources 
• Provide administrative support to the Admissions, Finance and Campus Operations teams - as needed i.e. including but not limited to; copying, scanning, filing, event support and tracking items dropped off and picked up at the receptionist desk

Selection Criteria:

• An appropriate/relevant tertiary qualification
• Experience setting up and managing electronic databases 
• Experience working in a library environment a big plus
• Commitment to excellence in the provision of a service to students
